CHARTER COMMUNICATIONS REPORT.
Community Access has been reaching out to Western Connecticut State University to create a partnership with their Public Communication department. The agreement has been drafted and has been forwarded to Charter management for signature.
The winter internship students all took part in a graduation ceremony and film festival. The summer internship began June 2nd with 9 members. Council member, George Linkletter, being one of them.
There was 2 truck shoot during last two months which included the Masuk High School graduation and the other covering the Fairfield County Fresh Air Fund Event.
Linkletter reported he had heard of issues of channels going dark late in the evening but, he had no formal complaint.
Davis explained that at the recent meeting of the statewide video council, the council was going to issue two letters of endorsement. They are in favor of restructuring access to community access funds. Certified access provider certificates are available but are not being issued. Only those who already have this certificate would benefit from the bills being endorsed. He also highlighted that Charter’s Community Access is number 1 in the state.
Davies also stated that after his most recent service call, he believes that there is a difference in the pixilation issue on the different versions of the cable box. This was not confirmed by Charter.
We are still in need of a new recording secretary.
The Council is in need of space for the storage of archived documents. Many in paper format. The suggestion was made that Charter consider offering the council a Cloud Drive account. The person taking over as the recording secretary may take on an additional task of converting the paper documents to electronic format.
The meeting was unanimously adjourned at: 8:30 PM. Respectfully submitted by: Carmella Amodeo, Vice Chairperson.
NEXT MEETING: September 13, 2011 at Charter Communications offices in Newtown at 7:00 PM.
